The month of September is over, and that means that the V2 Crew has completed the annual BTA Bike Commute Challenge! Our team did a great job of commuting via bicycle this year. Event Producer Erin Armentrout set a goal of 100% participation and was extremely close with an 84% participation rate – great job Erin! In fact, the V2 team biked a total of 441.7 miles, which equates to 431 lbs of CO2 emissions saved! Team Captain and V2 Director of Operations, Tania Mayer, set a personal goal to put 10,000 miles on her bike. She reached her goal while riding in the challenge, and we couldn’t be more proud of her – way to go Tania! See above some pics of Tania as she clocks in at 10,000 miles on her bicycle odometer! As you can guess, Tania is an avid bicyclist, and regularly commutes to work on her bike and around town. She was also the V2 team challenge winner, clocking in with 238.7 miles all on her own – over half of the team total!
Yep – it’s that time of year again! The V2 Crew is putting the rubber to the road with the annual BTA Bike Commute Challenge. September marks the change in seasons, from the hot summer we’ve had to the crisp nip of autumn and it also means challenging the office to ride their bikes to and from the office for the entire month.
The BTA Bike Commute Challenge is a friendly competition within a workplace and even between companies in Portland to see who can bike to work the most during the month of September. The workplace with the most bike commuting wins the challenge, and individuals are also eligible to win cool bike swag along the way. V2 is proud to be part of the Bike Commute Challenge for a second year in a row. For us it is important in reducing our carbon footprint, but also represents the “green” nature of V2’s business practices and how small steps can make a big impact.
